RICE: Glen “Clark” Rice of Brandon, MB passed away on Friday March 27th, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer. Clark was born on March 6th, 1936 on the family farm. Dad spent his early years doing road construction and working the farm. In 1968 Dad started work at Manitoba Hydro and retired in 1993. Dad married the love of his life Shirley Cumming in Belmont United Church on May 6, 1961. A year to the day they were blessed with their first son Robert, second son, Michael in 1966, followed by twins Terry and Sherry in 1968 & Patricia in 1971. Clark was a proud husband, father & grandfather. He put a lot of effort into his family. He was always a wealth of knowledge and helped us with homework, driving lessons and assisting with day to day dilemmas. He enjoyed hunting with his sons & son-in-law. Clark was the sole care giver to Mom as her health declined. Mom never had a want or need that he wouldn’t meet. He loved her dearly. Clark was predeceased by his wife Shirley, his parents James and Pearl (Wawanesa) brother Del and & Vivian (Calgary), brother Ronald (Wawanesa), sister-in-law Gwen (Cereal, Alberta) and his mother and father-in-law Gordon and Florence Cumming (Belmont). He leaves to mourn sons Robert (Nadreena) Brandon, Mike (CoraLee) Carroll, MB, Terry (Patty Packard) Brandon, daughters Sherry Hull of Brandon and Patricia (James) Warren Brandon. Grandchildren Samantha, Ashley, Alysha, Sarah (Marlon Rodriguez), Miranda, Emily, Michael, John and great-grandson Jesse Rodriguez. Also left to mourn Clark’s passing are his brother Edward of Cereal, AB and sister-in-law Noreen Rice of Wawanesa, MB as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A private burial took place on April 2, 2015 in the Wawanesa cemetery followed by a memorial reception in Brandon. With Daughters on Call and the help of his family Dad was able to spend the last year of his life at home.
