OSHUST: Henry Rudolph. Henry Oshust passed away on Wednesday, April 8th, 2015 at the Erickson District Health Centre at the age of 87 years. Henry was predeceased by his beloved wife Helen, grandson Jeremy, and his parents Leon and Sophie. He leaves his children Peter (Alyson) and Susan (Terry); his grandchildren Kelsey, Chenoa, Bronwyn, and Derry; relatives and friends to carry on his legacy of love of and enthusiasm for life. Henry was an intelligent, generous, and enduringly optimistic fellow who held a lifelong curiosity of the natural world. He was happiest when family and friends could gather to share in each other’s company, good food, and a few “oh-be-joyfuls”. He was an active participant in his community, as Mayor of Erickson for 11 years, and served for many years in local service organizations. He loved his wife and family; picking mushrooms, berries, and artifacts; having cookouts and fish-fries. He was a shopkeeper who loved growing things, and was especially proud of his garden on the farm. A funeral for Henry will be held at St. Jude’s Roman Catholic Church in Erickson at 11:00 am on Friday, April 24th, 2015. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to the Erickson District Health Centre Activity Program.
