WHITMORE: Steven Edwin Whitmore, 1977-2015. We are sorry to have the sudden loss of a son, brother, uncle, nephew and friend to many on March 24, 2015 at the age of 37. Steven was born November 17, 1977 in Neepawa to parents Marion and Glen Whitmore. The night Steve was born we had our first snowfall that closed roads; the day he passed, March 24, 2015 was snowing and icy. Steve had a life full of storms and challenges through which he was triumphant in so many ways! Steve attended school at Mountbatten, St. Adolphe, The Laureate Academy, Pierre Raddison and the School of Life! Steve worked for Richardson Stock Farms, Wildlife Rehab, with his uncle Dick Friesen doing lumber and scrap, Simplot, the oil patch in Estevan and Graham Farms in Carberry. Steve had his life changed dramatically in 1999 when he survived a crash with a train that left him disabled in body, but it didn't change his adventurous spirit. He used his truck as freedom - 4-wheeling in places that most wouldn't try - but he laughed and never gave up. This last year he acquired his "Lil Dirty" side by side, again raising the bar for his adventures for swamps, sand, bush and even a Poker Derby with uncle Dick who fully encouraged some of his antics. Some of this adventures were shared with a multitude of loyal friends and family who will miss him terribly. He also enjoyed his first trip to Mexico and took in everything he could possibly do in a week! Steve mastered the use of his computer and smart phone and was an avid on-line shopper where he found fabulous deals - things coming in the mail or being delivered was always a surprise! Bow, his companion dog, was his constant sidekick for the last nine years and his loyal friend and protector. Steve leaves to mourn his mother Marion Whitmore, sisters Roseanne Whitmore (Sam Cox), Tracey (Lawrence) Woods; brothers Jamie (Meg) Whitmore, Kel (Leanne Doering) Giesbrecht, all of his nieces and nephews, uncles and aunts, numerous cousins, and a multitude of loyal friends. Steve was predeceased by his father Glen Whitmore, cousins Troy Klassen, Robbie Emerson, nephew Devon Giesbrecht and grandparents Jim and Irene Cramer, Ted (Rose) and Estelle Whitmore. A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion, Carberry Branch on Saturday, April 18, 2015.
