WATT: It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Keith Watt, beloved husband of the late Joan Watt, on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at Dinsdale Personal Care Home. Keith was born in Melfort, Saskatchewan on November 27, 1936. He grew up on a farm near Birch Hills and attended Bonnie Hills School until grade eight, and Birch Hills High School for grades nine and ten. Keith received his welding certificate at the Western College of Welding in Regina. During his early years, he worked at the Melfort Creamery. He started his welding profession with Hamilton & Jones, then Hamilton & Allen, and finished his career with Glendale Industries. Keith was a member of the UCT. He coached and served on the executive for minor baseball and minor hockey, as well as the executive for the Air Canada Cup and Purolator Cup. He also volunteered for many tournaments. Keith was awarded The Ben Wiebe Memorial Award in 2000 for his contribution to his profession and his community. He loved baseball, hockey, curling, gardening and woodworking. Keith will lovingly be remembered by his sons Gordon (Julie) and Graham, grandchildren Keeley and Jens Watt, sister Dorothy (Jerry) Zuk, brother Bob and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Joan, parents Jean and Harold, brothers Dave and Don, sister Helen and sister-in-law, Beryl Imogene. In keeping with Keith’s wishes, a private graveside service was held at Rosewood Memorial Gardens on Friday, April 24, 2015.
