PERRY: Thomas Allan Perry - LAC-R91747. It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Allan Perry on Friday June 19, 2015 at the Wawanesa personal care home at the age of 101 years and 9 months. He will be dearly missed by daughters Sharon (Steve) Best and Lynn (Rick) Sprott. He is also missed by four grandchildren, Shannon (Jason), Sean (Guida), Kerri- Rae (Lucas) and Jay, along with two great grandchildren Beckett and Sofia, brothers-in-law Brian (Katherine) Beckett, Mansel Beckett (Betty deceased) and sister-in-law Grace Daily as well as many nieces and nephews. Dad was predeceased by his beloved wife Ruth, his parents George and Mary Jane, his brothers Edward, Arthur and his sister Edith. Allan was born on September 9, 1913 in Killarney and later moved to the Ninette area. After receiving his schooling in Tisdale and Ninette he joined the Air Force in 1940. His first posting was to Brandon and then to Mossbank, Saskatchewan, where he met Ruth Beckett, who later became his wife of almost 65 years. After the war, Allan and Ruth farmed near Margaret for a year before settling in the Northfield district in 1947. Dad loved the farm, the animals and all the berry picking in the summer. He was a 4-H leader, a school bus driver, a school trustee, a co-op board of director, a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion and president of that for many years. After 48 years on the farm, Dad and Mom moved to Wawanesa and, after the death of Ruth in 2008, Dad moved into the Wawanesa personal care home. Here he became part of an extended family where many of the staff had been students on his school bus route. The family wishes to extend their thanks to the staff at the personal care home for the compassion, patience and outstanding care that dad received during his time there. Funeral service has already taken place on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at the Wawanesa United Church followed by interment at the Ninette Cemetery.
