ROBERTSON: Floyd B. Robertson-, January 6, 1955 – July 1, 2015. On Wednesday, July 1, 2015 Floyd passed away after a long battle with cancer at the Hamiota Health Centre at the age of 60. He was predeceased by his father Howard Robertson; mother Jessie “Daisy” Robertson (Creber); and older brother Larry Robertson. He leaves behind his wife Debby Lee; daughters Kaitlan and Erica; son Cam; brothers Donn (Debby) and Bruce; sister Cathy (Ray); and close extended family. Floyd spent his life focused on his two loves, farming and family. Floyd grew up on his family farm near Elphinstone, MB which he took over with his brothers Larry and Donn. From a young age, he loved getting his fingers in the soil and making things grow. He cherished watching his crops and calves grow and prosper. Even in his last days, he asked about the crops and talked to Donn, Cam, and Tom about getting the cattle out to pasture on time. Nothing made him prouder than watching his daughter Kaitlan become a teacher, his son Cam take over the family farm and his daughter Erica become a vet, sharing his love for animals. Early on in their relationship, Floyd could be heard cheering on Debby at her sports events. This quickly transitioned into cheering for Kaitlan, Erica, and Cam in their many sports endeavors. He always made time to check in on his children and they looked forward to his Wednesday phone calls. Floyd will be remembered as a man of good humor, a caring father, a devoted husband, and a hard- working farmer. He will be greatly missed, but fondly remembered. There are so many people our family would like to thank. Thanks to the medical team at Hamiota Hospital, especially to Sharon and Dr. Kristjanson. As well as a sincere thanks to Dr. P. Czaykowski and staff at Cancer Care. Finally, a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Ken Van Ameyde and Lindy Lee, Debby’s brother-in -law and lovingly remembered sister, for their love, support, and expertise throughout Floyd’s cancer journey. There will be a Graveside Service at The Bend Cemetery, Strathclair on Monday, July 6th at 1:00 pm, followed by a time of fellowship at 2:00 pm at the Strathclair Municipal Hall.
