HRYCIUK: Robert (Bob) Hryciuk was born September 13, 1942 in Regina, SK. He passed away suddenly at the Virden Health Centre, Virden, MB. on Friday, August 21, 2015 at the age of 72. Bob was the only son born to Kay Hryciuk of Winnipeg, MB. He attended Glenlawn Collegiate in Winnipeg. Bob married Elaine Barbara Berthelette on March 26, 1966 and had three children: Bob, Cliff and Trevor. Bob worked for 25 years with Inland Cement in Winnipeg and Delta, BC. After retiring, Bob and Elaine moved to Melita to be closer to their children and grandchildren. In Melita, Bob worked at the Townsend Golf Course and at the Royal Canadian Legion as a bartender for many years. It was at the Legion that Bob met many people who became great friends. He particularly enjoyed dart nights at the Legion. Bob will be sadly missed by his wife Elaine of 49 years; three sons: Bob (Patti), Cliff (Kathy) and Trevor (Lynette); eight grandchildren: Ryan, Jesse, Gage, Sheridan, Mckenzie, Travis, Jason, and Brendan; many sisters and brothers-in-law and numerous cousins. Bob will be greatly missed by longtime childhood friend Bob Stevenson of Calgary, AB. Bob was predeceased by his mother Kay Hryciuk, "Auntie" Bella and "Uncle" Rod Pilon. In keeping with Bob’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral service. A gathering to celebrate and honor Bob's life will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2015 from 2:00-4:00 at the Royal Canadian Legion Lounge, Melita, MB. All are welcome to attend. Donations in memory of Bob may be given to the Canadian Cancer Society, 415-1st Street East, Brandon, MB. R7A 2W8.
