Mildred GRAHAM

GRAHAM: Mildred Irene Graham (Kendrick) entered into eternal rest, surrounded by her family, on August 22, 2015 at the Assiniboine Centre, Brandon, Manitoba, Mildred was 88 years old. Mildred was predeceased by her parents Roy and Annie Kendrick and her beloved husband and soul mate Ivan Graham. Mildred was born, raised and educated in Reston and Virden, Manitoba. A born educator, her chosen career was teaching. Following Normal School training, Mildred found employment in Wellwood, Manitoba, where she met and married Ivan in 1948 and raised her family. Mildred and Ivan farmed for many years and were able to enjoy a brief retirement until Ivan’s death in 1986. Mildred resided in Carberry until December of 2014 and latterly Fairview Personal Care Home in Brandon. Mildred’s entire life centered on her family and friends. She symbolized devotion, contentment, kindness and generosity. Although never one to acknowledge her abilities, Mildred was a gifted craftsperson and piano player. Her handmade items that fill our homes will be a continuing memory of her and the hands that were seldom idle. Left to cherish her memory are: Valarie McDonald and Lou Manfredi, Shannon and Roland Vodon, Trevor and Cheryl Graham, and Lori and Keith Lowdon. Also surviving is brother Melvin and sister-in-law Sheila Kendrick of Trail, BC. There are 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. Although our family chain is broken, we have been blessed and privileged to have had our mother in our lives for so many years. We are saddened by her absence yet celebrate such a full and enriched life. A graveside service was held at Carberry Cemetery. Pallbearers were grandchildren, Diana Kokorudz, Devin McDonald, Daniel Vodon, Scott Graham, Ashley Graham and Reid Lowdon. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice. White’s Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
