WIEBE: With her loving family by her side Marion Irene Wiebe (Jezzard) passed away in the early morning hours of August 26, 2015 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre. Born on the farm near Linklater Manitoba on March 8, 1928 to Grace and Ernest Jezzard, Marion was the youngest of six sisters and two brothers. She attended Prairie Rose School before going on to high school in Reston. After finishing high school, at age 16, she became a permit teacher at Dublin school for a year. At age 21, Marion married Lynn Sharratt and they had three children together. In 1964, Marion and the kids left the farm and moved to Brandon where she found work at Eatons. After attending night school to get her stenographer diploma, Marion started working for Dr. Gerald Dressler. Over time, she became an Optometric Assistant, she loved her job and enjoyed many good years with Dr. Dressler. In the early 90s, Marion met good friend Bob Haigh and she moved to Rocky Lake for a period of time. They enjoyed motorcycle touring, ski-dooing, fishing and gardening together. In September 2000, Bob passed away and Marion returned to Brandon to be closer to family. She enjoyed her years in her condo at Willow Place, then made the move to Lion's Manor in 2007 and her final move was to Fairview Home in November 2014. Marion was involved in the community in many ways. She was a member of the Rebekkah Lodge, Royal Purple, Woman's Institute and Seniors for Seniors. She also volunteered at the Brandon General Hospital. Marion attended the Justice Mennonite Brethren Church for many years, after her move to Lion's Manor she attended St. Mary's. Marion loved gardening, travelling, reading, needlepoint, cooking, entertaining and most importantly spending time with her family. Mom's greatest inspiration in life were her children. Marion will be dearly missed by her three children, Lynda (Eric Bruheim) MacDougall, Kim Sharratt and Nancy (Brent) Payne; her two grandchildren Brock Payne and Shawn MacDougall; her brother Frank Jezzard as well as nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by parents Ernest and Grace, sisters Lil, Edna, Mable, Ethel, Joyce and brother Bill. A private family service was held August 31, 2015 at the Brandon Cemetery officiated by Joe Ball. Grandson Brock Payne was the urn bearer. We would like to thank the caring nursing staff on 400 and the palliative care unit, as well Dr. Deong, Dr. Butler and Joe Ball. A special thanks to the wonderful staff on the 4th floor at Fairview. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Marion may be made to a charity of choice. Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.memorieschapel.com.
