PHILIP:Glen Douglas George Nov. 16, 1928 - Oct. 4, 2015. Glen, 86, passed away peacefully at home in Carberry with his family by his side. He was born at home (on 23-4-29), the only son of George and Matilda (Somers) Philip. He is survived by his wife Lois (Bremner) of 60 years; two daughters, Patti (Lee Bourque) of Calgary, Yvonne (Richard Desjardins) of Carberry, and son Doug of Tilston; five grandchildren, James, Clinton (Kiana), Brant (Kaitlin), Tristan, and Kaylee; great- grandchildren, Emmalea, Xavier, and Kyrie; his sisters Pauline Philip, Bernie Barbour, and Ona Graham (all of Calgary); and sister-in-law, Fay Hewins of Brandon. He received his education at Beverley School, though only some learned from the teacher. He lived all his life in the Tilston district, farming Philip and Bremner lands, except for two winters of his youth when he worked in Sudbury and in Brandon. Special thanks to Gail and staff at Daughter-On-Call for the excellent care given to Glen. A Celebration of Glen’s Life will be held at the Tilston Community Hall, Tilston, MB. on Saturday, October 10, 2015 beginning at 2:00 p.m. Lunch to immediately follow. A private family interment at the Tilston Cemetery will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Tilston Cemetery Fund c/o Michele Jones, Box 54, Tilston, MB.
