McKINNON: Lionel Alexander McKinnon passed away in Brandon, MB, on October 15, 2015 at the age of 79 years. Lionel was born on January 21, 1936 in Pettapiece, MB and grew up on the family farm with his parents and brother, Rixon. He worked as a heavy duty mechanic but enjoyed spending his spare time collecting and building model railroading sets. Lionel is predeceased by his wife June. He will be missed by his daughter Rilla (Brad) Dunkley, son Joseph and grandchildren Amanda and Alicia Dunkley. As per Lionel’s wishes, there will be no formal service held. The family would like to thank Don, Bev and Ken for all their love and support over the past years. He will be laid to rest in Pettapiece Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Lionel may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Unit 3-824-18th Street, Brandon, MB, R7A 5B7.
