DRIEDGER: Marion Driedger of Brandon, Manitoba passed away on Friday, November 6, 2015 at the Assiniboine Centre, Brandon at the age of 65 years. Marion was born on December 13, 1949 to John and Katherine Driedger of Justice, Manitoba. She was the eldest of five children. Her earliest memories were of caring for farm animals, their wood burning cook stove, coal oil lamps, visits to the grandparents farms, Sunday School in the country church, trying on her homemade outfits and her introduction to the 3Rs at the one room country Norman School. It was at this age that her mom noticed Marion experienced short blackouts which would later develop into seizures that would become part of life for her for the next sixty years. Marions mom & dad, teachers and caregivers did their best to have Marion participate in Sunday School, Gospel Light Bible Camp at Clear Lake, 4H Sewing Club, piano lessons, church life, youth group, public school, then worked at Cor Enterprises. With the provision of a home through Brandon Community Options, 24/7 care and meals, outings, transportation and mentoring was provided. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to all those many individuals who contributed in countless ways to Marions wellbeing throughout her life with a special thank you to those with Brandon Community Options and recently to the staff of the hospital and care home. Marion was often frustrated by her limitations and it would show. Yet we take consolation that when we asked Marion about her faith in Christ and if she had invited Christ into her life she gave us an emphatic yes she had. We look forward to our reunion in our Forever Home. Marion is survived by her sister Ruth, husband Al Froese and family; brother Len, wife Lorri Driedger and family, brother Fred, wife Lori Driedger and family, sister Joyce, husband Ken Friesen and family. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. from the Richmond Park Mennonite Brethren Church, 1525 26th Street, Brandon, Manitoba with Pastor Gerry Harms officiating. Interment will follow at the Sparling Cemetery. If friends so desire donations may be made to the Mennonite Central Committee, 134 Plaza Drive, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3T 5K9 or Brandon Community Options, 136 11th Street, Brandon, Manitoba, R7A 4J4.
