WILLIAMSON: Marie Elizabeth (nee Miller) passed away peacefully at Fairview Home on Sunday, November 15, 2015 at the age of 83 years. Marie was born on February 12, 1932 in Brandon, Manitoba. Remaining to cherish Marie's memory are her husband of almost 60 years, Joseph Arthur "Art"; children: Linda Williamson, Lorie (Tim) Potter, Louise (Darcy) Woods, Barb (Ron) Kristjansson, Bev (Dean) Carlson, Lawrence (Angie) Williamson; grandchildren: Ryan (Michelle) Wannamaker, Derek Wannamaker, Heather (Andrew) Ulmer, Andy Potter, Braden (Skylar Cathcart) Woods, Nicki Woods, Cody and Justin Kristjansson, Madison and Curtis Carlson, Megan, Natalie and Kate Williamson; great-grandchildren: Lucas and Mason Wannamaker, as well as brother Bill Miller and his family and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by parents Allan and Marjorie Miller. Marie grew up in the Justice Community, continued her education at Brandon Normal School and teacher training in Winnipeg. She taught at Desford, Roseland, Brandon and South Brandon schools. Art and Marie were married July 28, 1956 in the Justice United Church. Mom had a great love for family, and community. Animals were always a much loved part of her life, horses in particular. She was a lady of many talents including; teacher, seamstress, scrapbooker, 4-H leader, farm wife, homemaker and tax consultant. Family and friends are invited to a time of Visitation at Memories Chapel, 330 18th Street North on Wednesday, November 18th, between 7:00 and 8:00 p.m. A Celebration of Marie's Life will take place at Central United Church, 327 8th Street Brandon, on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Barb Jardine officiating. A private family interment will take place at Rosewood Memorial Gardens. Donations in memory of Marie may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, Unit 4B-457 9th Street, Brandon, MB R7A 1K2 or to a charity of choice.
