COURT: With great sadness we announce the passing of John Collins Court (RED) of Carberry, Manitoba. Red was born August 20, 1931 at Carberry and passed away November 1st, 2015, peacefully at his home with family by his side, at the age of 84. Red was a carpenter all his life. He began working with his Dad, Eric Court, at a young age. He married Betty Williams from Austin, Manitoba. They had five children together. Red and Betty separated in 1971. In his younger days Red enjoyed curling, hunting, camping, fishing, and cross country skiing. He loved the outdoors and all animals, especially his beloved dogs. He was often seen walking his faithful companion Princess prior to his stroke in 2011. Red also enjoyed travelling. When his health was better he travelled to Europe, Alaska, Panama, and British Columbia. Red was a huge fan of the Brandon Wheat Kings and faithfully attended their games up until his stroke. In later years Red loved to watch sports on TV. He followed the Blue Bombers, the Jets, and the Blue Jays. He also watched all the curling games on TV. He was thrilled when the Jets returned to Winnipeg. Red was predeceased by his parents, Eric and Kathleen Court, son-in-law Bob Harper and brother-in-law Bill Hadley. He is survived by his children, Muriel Suggitt, Marilyn Stenner, Alex Court, Allan Court, and Sheila Harper (Phil Harris). He is also survived by grandchildren Jared (Heather), Dani, Kailey (Mike), Kelcie, Rebecca, Jenna (Will), Shannon and great grandchildren Celyna, Lily, Zack and Katelyn, Zachariah and Zander. He is also survived by his sisters, Kathy Turnball (Dave) and Ruth Walker (Gary) as well as numerous nieces and nephews. As Dad wished, no funeral service was held. Cremation has taken place and a private family interment will take place at Carberry Cemetery at a later date. Whites Funeral Home was in care of arrangements. We thought of you todayBut that is nothing newWe thought of you yesterdayand will tomorrow too.We think of you in silenceand make no outward showFor what it meant to lose youOnly those who love you know.Remembering you is easyWe do it everydayIts the heartache of losing youThat will never go away.
