HAMILTON: On Saturday, November 21, 2015, Mavis Frances Hamilton passed away at the Brandon Regional Health Centre. Born January 18, 1942 in Dauphin, MB, Mavis was the youngest of three children. Always a quick learner with a knack for numbers, Mavis started school with her older brother, two years early. She graduated from Dauphin Collegiate in 1959; and then moved to Brandon where she completed Business Administration (1976) and then later Health Care Administration (1984). She worked at Brandon Magazine, Royal Bank and then spent the majority of her working life at Fairview Home and Brandon General Hospital until her retirement. Mom loved a good time and her cohorts on her Mexican holidays have many fond memories. With a passion for gardening, Mavis loved her home and yard, spending many hours tending to the same. The most important thing in her life was her family - she loved us all fiercely. Remaining to cherish Mavis' memory are: her daughter Tracey (Rod), son Kelly (Brandy), son Patrick; grandchildren Andrew (Christie), Cody, Teaghan, Kristopher, Kelci, Troy, Sarah, Kaitlyn, McKenzie, Josh; great-grandchildren Emerson and Erik; sister Thelma as well as extended family members. She was predeceased by her mother Esther, father Thomas and brother Duncan. The Celebration of Mavis' Life took place at Memories Chapel on Thursday, November 26, 2015 with Joe Ball, Hospital Chaplain, officiating. Urn bearers were Andrew and Erik Hamilton. Interment followed at the Brandon Cemetery. Donations in memory of Mavis may be made to the Brandon Regional Health Centre Foundation, Palliative Care, 150 McTavish Avenue East, Brandon, Manitoba, R7A 2B3 or the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 3 - 824 - 18th Street, Brandon, Manitoba, R7A 5B7. The family wishes to express special thanks to the staff and physicians at the Brandon Regional Health Centre, her good friends Bev, Leslie, Theresa and Ollie for their friendship over the years; her great neighbours, both past and present and all those who supported us during this very difficult time. Very special thanks to Joe Ball - your support has been immeasurable."Rest in Peace Granny"Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.memorieschapel.com.
