NYLEN: Anne Nylen, of Erickson, passed away with family by her side on December 10th at the age of 95. Anne was youngest daughter of Daniel and Eva Olenick of Souris. As a young woman she worked at Clear Lake and at the outset of the war went to work for Canada Car in an air plane factory. Later in life she had a lengthy career at Brugger Insurance. Anne married Axel Nylen in 1948 and they lived in Brandon where they raised their three children; Daniel, Mary Anne and Robert. Anne is survived by her children; Dan (Lonney), Mary Anne (Paul), Bob (Betty). Anne had five grandchildren; Rob, Carrie, Kristi, Kirk and Kendra, and 16 great grandchildren. She is also survived by brother-in-law Ken (Joan) Nylen, and sister-in-law Della Nylen and many nieces and nephews. Anne was a member the Canadian Order of Foresters, Woman’s Institute, South Ditch Lake Co-Op Board, and Erickson Lutheran Church. Anne was predeceased by all of her siblings, her first husband Axel (1962), her second husband Milton Holmes (1974), and grandson Jason. A celebration of her life was held on Monday December 14th at Erickson Lutheran Church and officiated by Rev. Jim Vickers.
