STEWART: Lloyd Cameron passed away on December 31, 2015 at the Assiniboine Centre in Brandon a few weeks after his 94th birthday. Beloved husband and best friend of Clara for sixty-nine and a half years. Loving father of Wayne, Ron and his wife Terry, Beth and Maureen. Dear brother to Sam and his wife Charlotte and Harold and his wife Betty. Also survived by his grandchildren Michael, Angela, Vanessa, Lisa, Chelsey, Kelly, Connor, Ariel and Caitlin and by his great-grandchildren William, Ava, Matthew, Ethan and Emily. Lloyd grew up in Decker and served in the medical corps in England during World War II. He returned to Decker afterwards and farmed nearby before retiring in Brandon. Lloyd was active in the community. He was the secretary-treasurer of both the school board and the curling club, he served in the local legion, and he regularly drove a school van. Lloyd always enjoyed sports and activities. He was an excellent horseshoe and tennis player, he was a pitcher for Decker’s fastball team, he curled every winter, and he never tired of cribbage. Later on he turned to golf and was a founding member of the Hamiota Golf Club. As well, Lloyd was an ardent Toronto Blue Jays fan. An interment ceremony will be held for family members at the Hamiota Cemetery at 2 pm on Monday, January 4, 2016 and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
