MITCHELL: Ethel Marie (nee Robertson) September 29, 1930 -January 2, 2016. It is with deep sorrow that the family of Mrs. Ethel Mitchell announces her passing at the age of 85. Ethel passed peacefully at Shaver Hospital in St. Catharines, Ontario after succumbing to her battle with Leukemia. Her life and memory will be cherished forever by her children: Gordon (Phyllis) Lawson and Marilyn Walorny; her step-children: Gordon Mitchell, Bob Mitchell (Joanne Dixon), Cindy Mitchell (Kurt Saunders), Nancy (Mark) Addison, and Jim Mitchell (Lizanne Hilton); 20 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and her brothers Don (Dianne) Robertson and Allan (Lorna) Robertson; predeceased by her husband Keith Mitchell and son-in-law Steve Walorny. Ethel will also be greatly missed by her nieces, nephews and many friends. Ethel was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be remembered by her family and friends as a gentle, caring and compassionate woman. Ethel loved to travel, play Bridge, golf, curl and socialize with her family and friends or anything that involved the love of her life, her husband Keith. The memorial service to celebrate Ethel’s life will take place at the James L. Pedlar Funeral Home, 1292 Pelham Street, Fonthill, Ontario on Saturday, January 9th at 2:00 p.m. with visitation 1 hour prior to service. In lieu of floral tributes, as an expression of sympathy donations may be made to the Cancer Foundation to support Acute Myeloid Leukemia Research.
