DESMARAIS: Christine Jean Desmarais (nee Scott) of Brandon, MB entered into rest on January 4, 2016 at the age of 71 years. Christine was born on December 4, 1944 in the Rural Municipality of Rosedale, MB; to Harold and Jean Scott. After completing public school, she graduated from Business College in Portage la Prairie and then worked as a bookkeeper for several firms in Brandon and area. Christine was an active member of the Order of the Royal Purple Lodge #138 in Brandon and of Elks Lodge #14, also in Brandon. She and close friend Duncan Kellie loved to travel to Elks and Royal Purple events throughout Manitoba. She was a member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Brandon and took an active part in the various activities of her church family. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. The funeral service for Christine Desmarais will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, 361 Russell St., Brandon, MB. She will be laid to rest with her parents on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Riverside Cemetery, Neepawa, MB. Donations in Christines memory may be made to St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, 361 Russell St., Brandon, MB R7A 5H6 or the Elks and Royal Purple Fund for Children, 100, 2629-29th St., Regina, SK.
