McCONNELL: Elgin “Red” Deryl McConnell, of Hamiota, MB, beloved husband of Ruth; father of Kim (Carolyn) and the late Wendel (Bev); passed away in Hamiota, MB on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at 85 years of age. A celebration of Red’s life will be held on Monday, February 1, 2016 at the Hamiota United Church, Hamiota at 2:00 pm. A time of fellowship and refreshment will follow at the Hamiota Community Centre. Private family interment in Hamiota Cemetery. For those so desiring, donations may be made in Red’s memory to Hamiota Minor Hockey, Hamiota, MB, R0M 0T0; Manitoba 4-H Council, 1129 Queen’s Avenue, Brandon, MB, R7A 1L9; or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, Unit 3, 824 - 18th St, Brandon, MB, R7A 5B7.
