ROCAN: Therese (Terry) Marie (née Bellec), October 15, 1926- February 13, 2016. With sadness and heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Terry Rocan at Dinsdale Personal Care Home, Brandon, on February 13, 2016. She was predeceased by her parents, Mathurin and Marie as well as her husband, Joseph. Therese was the youngest of nine girls, of which, her sister Cecile survives. Her loss is deeply felt by her children, Diane, Gerald (Mary Anne), Brian (Carol) and Debbie (Alan). She also leaves to mourn, her grandchildren, Jacqueline (Brian), Zoe (Matthew), Danielle, Preston, Adam, Joel, Samantha and Kayla as well as great grandchildren Ava and Joseph. Terry was born and raised on the family farm in St. Claude, Manitoba. She married Joe Rocan in 1950 and they moved to Reston, Manitoba to raise their family. They moved to Brandon in 1966 where Terry worked at Woolco and then Hillcrest Place until she retired in 1989. Therese was a parishioner of St. Augustine’s Catholic Church and a loyal member of the Catholic Women’s League. She enjoyed lawn and five pin bowling and was known to throw the occasional curling rock. She played cards frequently and was especially fond of playing cribbage with family and friends. Terry spent many enjoyable summers at her cabin at Ditch Lake where she loved boating and spending time around the campfire with her grandchildren. The family wishes to thank the caring staff at Dinsdale Home for providing an enjoyable home for Terry in her final years. Prayers for Therese will be held the evening of February 19 at 7:00 p.m. at Adam’s Funeral Home in Notre Dame de Lourdes. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, February 20th, at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Claude Roman Catholic Church. Flowers are gratefully declined. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Brockie Donovan of Brandon and Adam’s Funeral Home of Notre Dame are in care of arrangements.
