ZDYRKO: Paul Zdyrko, a resident of Sokol Manor, passed away suddenly February 10, 2016, age 82. Born in Beausejour, MB on January 27, 1934, he grew up there and finished Grade 11. He worked on odd jobs for a couple of years. Then in 1955, he enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force, his trade was that of firefighter. He served his country in various postings from coast to coast as well as two tours in Germany at the height of the Cold War. He retired with 30 years service, to Winnipeg, MB and then the last couple of years in Brandon. He dabbled in electronics, TV and short wave radio. Paul was single and had no children, but numerous nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his elder brother, Nick of Pembroke, ON, his sisters, Mary of Moose Jaw, SK and Louise of Victoria, BC. Paul’s ashes will be taken to Beausjeour for burial. There will be a Life Celebration at Sokol Manor Tuesday, February 23, 2016, 10:00 a.m. Donations can be made to the War Amps or to the Salvation Army.
