MORRISON: Peacefully, with his family by his side, Terry John Morrison, age 64 years, passed away on Friday, March 18, 2016, at the Brandon Regional Health Centre. Born March 5, 1952, in Brandon, he was the only child of Thena (Bennett) and William Morrison. From the age of 2, he was raised in the North Hill area of Brandon, and continued to reside in the family home until his death. Terry began working at the BRHC (Brandon General Hospital) in his late teens. He first worked in the kitchen, then housekeeping, and lastly, the incinerator room. He took early retirement in 2012 when his health prevented him from performing the duties of his job to the high standards he set for himself. Terry met the love of his life, Joanie, in 1980. They were married on May 18, 1985. With this union, came a son, Harry, and a daughter, Terrie, whom he loved and embraced fully and completely as his own. Terry had a great love of animals, especially dogs. Over the course of his lifetime he owned three special dogs; Blue, Willie and Bennett. To him, they were a member of his family. Some of Terry’s favorite times were spent with family, whether it was a special occasion, or “just because”. He loved to cook, and he always put others before himself. His pastimes included fishing, and playing crib with his friends; as well as taking short trips in the summer with Joan and their dog, to relax and get away. Terry was a humble man, with a sweet and tender heart. Everyone who knew him felt blessed to be part of his life. You were always welcomed with open arms, and a glass of whiskey. He would give you the shirt off his back if he felt you needed it. He will be greatly missed by family and friends alike. Terry leaves to mourn his passing – his beloved wife of 30 years, Joan; his two children: Harry (Leanne) Keen and Terrie Stelmack (special friend Edwin Medl); his seven grandchildren: Taylor (Ryan), Cody, Jadelyn (Kyle), Brett (Carleigh), Joel, Maegan, and Mylie; and his two great-grandchildren: Kynslee and Damien. Also surviving are his mother-in-law, Mary Winfield; brothers-in-law: Garry (Linda) and Roland (Elaine); sisters-in-law: Judy (Ken) and Marilyn (Ken); numerous nieces and nephews; and many cherished friends. He was predeceased by his mother, Thena (Bennett) Morrison, and his father, William Morrison, both in 1992 (6 months apart); his father-in-law, Daniel Winfield in 1996; and his great-grandson, Aiden Packham in 2013.
