PUGH: On April 9th, 2016, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend, Florence Dorrine, passed away peacefully with family by her side at Hillcrest Personal Care Home. Born April 19th, 1917 to Kate and William Haines at Fort William and moving to Brandon in 1921, she married Gerrard James Pugh in 1939 and had 53 wonderful years together. Mom excelled at everything she tried including knitting, sewing, baking, cooking and reading. Her memory and ability to remember names amazed us right until the last week of her life. Her faith and prayers inspired us and left a great legacy to her family and friends. Her competitive nature endeared her to grandchildren who loved playing cards and games for hours with her. Mom was predeceased by her loving husband, parents, siblings, Charles (Margaret), Queenie (Bob), Bunt (Estelle), Robert and son-in-law, Vic Oliver. Mom is survived by her daughters Carol Oliver, Patricia Joan (Wilfred) Demajo and son Bill (Brenda) Pugh; grandchildren Nicole (Chris), Jason (Faye), Sean (Allison), Catherine (Jason), Michael, Emma (Andrew), Sarah, Breanna (Brad), Jaime (Jamie), Amanda (Matt) and Christopher; and great-grandchildren Will, Grady, Evan, Abby, Stella, Alice, Emilia, Hudson, and Paxton. Prayers will be said at the Brockie Donovan Chapel, 332-8th Street, on Monday, April 18th, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Augustines Roman Catholic Church, 327-4th Street, on Tuesday, April 19th (Moms 99th Birthday) at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. John Pungente and Fr. Patrick Neufeld officiating. A private graveside ceremony will follow after a reception in the St. Augustines Square. Donations in memory of Dorrine may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 3-824-18th Street, Brandon, MB, R7A 5B7 or a charity of choice. Messages of condolence may be placed at www.brockiedonovan.com.
