KOZAK: Philip Kozak passed away quietly in Fairview Home, Brandon, Manitoba on May 4, 2016. Born August 6, 1924, the youngest of eight children, Phil married Helen (Czerkawski) June 16, 1946. They farmed at Brandon, then at Fairfax, before returning to Brandon, and raised three sons. Phil never missed a day visiting Helen during her stay at Fairview, until her passing in 2013. He was also a skilled carpenter before his retirement, and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. A skilled cribbage player, Phil attended both the Legion and the Sokol for years. He is survived by his brother, John, sons Ken (Trudy), Terry (Donna) and Ron (Betty), and grandsons, Brent and Colin, Lawrence, and Logan as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 20, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the Brandon Cemetery with a gathering afterward to celebrate Phils life, at Prairie Oasis Senior Centre, 241-8th Street, Brandon. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of ones choice.
