TITCHKOSKY: Elsie Titchkosky (Mayert), 1916 - 2016. With family by her side, Elsie passed away peacefully in the Glenboro Care Home on April 15th, 2016. Elsie celebrated her “100th” Birthday in Glenboro. The hall was filled with friends and family gathered to recall the great times spent with her and how she influenced so many lives. Elsie was born in their farm house near Sinclair, Manitoba on March 1, 1916. She was tenth in a family of nineteen children of which two sisters and one brother are remaining. Elsie went to school and began her very active life in the surrounding area. In 1937 Elsie married Reynold Titchkosky of Morden. Reynold died in 1950 leaving a young family of six. She is survived by all six of her children: Dolores Ehnes, Barb Chakowski (Colin), Bev Cowan (Jim), Sharon Ehnes (Gerald), and two sons: Archie Titchkosky (Carolyn) and Gary Titchkosky. Elsie has seventeen grandchildren, twenty, two great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Elsie’s family always came first.  It was not easy to raise six children on her own. However, she was able to enjoy many sports in her later life. She had a true passion for golf, curling, darts and bridge, and developed many long lasting friendships. She was also an active member of the Hospital Auxiliary and the Legion Auxiliary. Family, friends and relatives all contributed to her wonderful life and she was never alone. She had a strong faith in God and attended church regularly. Being raised and having lived on a farm for many years, Elsie became an avid gardener. She continued her gardening into the very late stages of her life. Elsie appreciated all the flowers she received and especially enjoyed growing them herself. Elsie Titch will be missed by many and will always be in our hearts. Special thanks to all the Caregivers at the Morden Manor and the Baldur & Glenboro Personal Care Homes as well as Wiebe Funeral Chapel for the arrangements. A Memorial Service was held at 2:00 p.m. Friday May 6, 2016 at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Morden with ash interment at Chapel Cemetery Columbarium.“Those we hold most dear, never truly leave us.They live on in the kindness they showed, the comfort they shared, and the love they brought into our lives.”Wiebe Funeral Chapel, MordenIn care of arrangements, 204-822-4755. wiebefuneralhomes.com
