LENTON: Russell George. April 24, 1947 - May 10, 2016 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Russell (Russ) Lenton on May 13, 2016 at Capitalcare Norwood Care, Edmonton, AB at the age of 69. Russell was born in Winnipeg, MB to Elaine and Elmer, the second oldest of thirteen children. He was raised in the Neepawa, Gladstone area. He ventured to Vancouver then returned to Brandon to work at Brown Steel. Russell worked at Burns Meats for many years, he was also a representative for UFCWmembers and as a Steward and plant chairperson. Upon closure of Burns Meats, Russell moved to Edmonton, AB working at Alsask Meats, then for Inovta Food until his retirement. Russell loved to tinker in the garage, restoring older vehicles and whatever needed fixed. Russell is survived by his wife Lorraine; Sons, Lorne (Robin), Shawn (Carla). Stepchildren, Gerald (JoAnne), Gregory (Lynette), Kim (Wayne), Brent, Tannis (Stephane). Brothers, Brian (Diana), Daniel (Shannon), Dennis (Melanie), Chris (Sandra), Glen and Drew. Sisters, Barbara (Dennis) Foster, Tracy (Mel) Kelly. Sisters-in-law Darlene Lenton and Jo-Anne Lenton. Grandchildren, Meghan (great-grandson Ryder), Brock, Makenna, Harper and Emily, many nieces and nephews. Step grandchildren, Brittany and Taylor, Courtney and Parker, Messina and Jharrid and Joel, Brandon and Breille, Jhorden. Russell was predeceased by his parents, Elaine and Elmer, brother Barry. Sisters, Brenda (Dennis) Lehman and Margaret Pottinger. Cremation has taken place. Service will be held on May 18, 2016 at Trinity Funeral Home, Edmonton, AB. Donations in memory of Russell may be made to Canadian Cancer Research University of Alberta, Edmonton, AB or Canadian Diabetes Association. There will be a Ceremony and interment at the Brandon Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. Friday, May 27, 2016. Lunch to follow at the Legion Hall 560-13th Street East.
