VERMETTE: Denise Eva Vermette (Née Morin). February 15, 1933 – June 18, 2016. Peacefully with family by her side, Denise Eva Vermette passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at the age of 83 years. Mom was predeceased by our father Lucien (Lou) Vermette in 1999. Mom is survived by her children; Gil (Sandy) Vermette, Bob (Sue) Vermette and Monique (Rob) Miller; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Denise and Lou built a wonderful life in Brandon and spent many happy moments at their cottage in Clear Lake. Mom’s true love and passion was her family, although distance separated us, mom was always the reason to draw us together. Through mom’s illness she had the determination to make the best of her setbacks and never let it stop her from living each moment to the fullest. Mom touched the lives of many and was a generous soul. There was nothing she wouldn’t do for anyone, still trying hard during the critical point of her illness, all with a continued smile and laughter. She left us with beautiful memories and her strong love for us will forever be our guide. She was the mother who could take the place of all others, but whose place no one else can take. God knew the journey was getting rough for you and the hills became harder to climb. It was time to close your weary eyes. We miss you dearly and you will be forever in our hearts. You were unlike any other. In keeping with Denise’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Monday, June 27, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald Street. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in memory of Denise may be made to the Canadian Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
