WILLIAMS: With great sadness, we announce the passing of Patricia Lilianne Williams, nee Lambert. On June 13, 2016, a beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and dear friend left this Earth. Pat is now with her son, Kent, and her twin sister, Lois, whom she missed so much. Pat died peacefully at the lake where she loved to be, with her loving husband holding her close. In 2003, Pat had a serious health struggle that left doctors and family thinking it was her time to go; but all were surprised and blessed with the miracle that she steadily made her way back into life and the vibrancy we all knew and loved. In the words of her granddaughter, “we cherish the blessing that we got to hug her and tell her ‘I love you’ for the last 13 years after we said our goodbyes the first time”. Patricia was born February 8, 1937 in Winnipeg to Fjola and George Lambert. She enjoyed a happy childhood, close to sisters Lois (Bering) and Margaret (Cooper). Many friends she grew up with on Morier Ave. attending Glenlawn Collegiate and United College, are still close to this day. On May 2, 1958, Pat married the love of her life, Watcyn Williams. Their happy partnership took them to live in Quebec, Washington, Ohio, and back to Manitoba; as well as on excursions to Japan, Jamaica, Mexico and Arizona. Life together gave them three children, six grandchildren and now three great-grandchildren with another expected soon. Pat and Wat’s steady commitment to each other has been a gift and a model for their family. They were always respectful and supportive as they travelled together through life’s difficulties and its joys. Pat was a loving mother and family glue. She followed her childhood dream of becoming a nurse when her children were in school. She was a devoted nurse, bringing kind nurture to her patients in Ohio, at Pinawa Hospital, and at the Assiniboine Centre in Brandon. Pat played the piano beautifully, and has passed this gift on to at least one granddaughter. Little Shadow, Pat and Wat’s rescue dog, who, as their son-in-law said, won “the lucky dog lottery”, will miss his loving master, and our hearts go out to him. Pat loved her daughter-in-law and son-in-law as her own and appreciated with gratitude, their attention, help, and love. Patricia will be forever loved and missed by husband, Watcyn; daughter, Cherie (Janzen) and Dave; son, Scott Williams and Myrna. Her grandchildren and recently, great grandchildren, were the lights of her life and she was filled with pride at each of their stages and their accomplishments. Memory of Amma will be treasured by Katie (Janzen) Plotnikoff, Nate, and daughter, Mila; Kyleigh (Janzen) Bromley, Chris, and son, Luke; Joel Janzen and Crystal Milne and daughter, Evey; Jason Williams; Kayla Williams and Cody McIntosh; Meghan Williams and Eric Bissett. Pat will be lovingly remembered by her sister, Margaret, numerous but close nieces and nephews, sisters and brothers-in-law, and dear friends. We have all been blessed to have this kind, soft-spoken, gentle lady in our lives. Though quiet, she had a wonderful sense of humour, and could be quick with a witty remark. Though gentle, she had remarkable strength. We are grateful for our role model and the lessons in looking at life we have learned from this special person: To Pat:Because of you, we know the beauty of and appreciate the gifts of nature.Because of you, we know the value of being present, and of listening closely.Because of you, we know kindness is always best. Because of you, we have learned strength and grace and resilience in adversity, and acceptance without bitterness. Because of you, we understand the importance of enjoying each moment, here and now, for exactly what it is.We are grateful for your life well-lived and will strive to honour you in our lives. Your beautiful soul will live on in the hearts of your grandchildren and great-grandchildren. We hope you are doing “swimmingly” in a beautiful place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be may made to a charity of your choosing. On July 9, 2016, an informal Celebration of Life and time of fellowship will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB.
