JENSEN: It is with great sadness that the family of Elizabeth Agnes Jensen announces her passing on Tuesday, June 28, 2016, at the age of 77 years at the Brandon Regional Health Centre. Elizabeth will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 49 years, George, and her three children: Norman, Bryan (Mary) and Annemarie (Brian) Watson. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Christian, Brendon, Peter, Gwen and Erik. Born in 1939 and raised in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, Elizabeth attended the University of Winnipeg after high school and received her degree in Education. In a career which spanned more than 30 years, she taught junior high and high school in many locations, including Edmonton, Calgary and Toronto as she and her husband George explored the country. In 1976, she and George returned to the prairies to raise a young family and she spent the bulk of her career teaching high school math and computer sciences at the Portage Collegiate in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba. Elizabeth’s greatest passion was always her family. In her final years, nothing brought joy to her as richly as spending time with her beloved grandchildren. The happiness and light in her eyes during these visits will always be among our favorite memories when we think of this wonderful women, wife, mother and grandmother. The Ceremony to Celebrate Elizabeth's Life will be held on Sunday, July 3, 2016 at 1:00 p.m., at Memories Chapel, 330 18th Street North, Brandon, Manitoba. Joe Ball will officiate. Her husband will be hosting friends and family at their home after the service. Donations in memory of Elizabeth may be made to the Scleroderma Society of Canada at 105-386 Broadway, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3C 3R6 or through www.scleroderma.ca. Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.memorieschapel.com.
