POLLICHUK: Lawrence Pollichuk of Minnedosa, passed away June 8, 2016, tragically at the family farm. Lawrence was born at Mountain Road to Mike and Carrie Pollichuk on June 22, 1944. In 1975 the Pollichuk's moved to Minnedosa, where Lawrence employed at Mohawk Oil, while trying his hand at farming. In 1982 the family moved to their farm where Lawrence farmed until his battle with MS resulted in retirement. In 2012 they purchased a home in Minnedosa, but spent the summers on the farm because Lawrence loved the farm almost as much as his family. In the last ten years, his three grandsons were a great joy to him. Lawrence loved reading, TV, Suduko, drives in the country, visits from family and friends, cutting grass and smoking his cigar on the deck. He was an Honorary Life Member of the Knights of Columbus. Lawrence was predeceased by his father in 1948, mother Carrie and step-father John Badowich in 2005, father-in -law Michael Chupka in 2007, grandparents, George and Anne (Labuik) Pollichuk and Frank and Taklia Koversky. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 47 years, Cecilia, two sons, Sheldon and Tammy of Winnipeg, Rob and Judy of Minnedosa and three grandsons, Nathan Robert, Ty Michael and Brody Michael; mother-in-law Pearl Chupka of Minnedosa, brother Don of Brandon and two nieces Cheryl of Vancouver and Michelle of Winnipeg and step brothers Edwin and Bob Badowich. Funeral service was held on June 18th, at Minnedosa Holy Ascension Catholic Church, with Father Emil Kardasinac and Cantor Marion Robaluk officiating. Honorary pallbearers were the Knights of Columbus. Interment at a later date in Minnedosa Cemetery. Minnedosa Funeral Service was in care of arrangements.
