WILLMS: On Monday, July 4, 2016, Harry Peter Willms, of Brandon, formerly of Forrest, passed away at the Assiniboine Centre. Born February 1, 1933 in the Municipality of Daly, Manitoba, Harry attended school at Robert Burns near Alexander, MB and Gourley north east of Forrest. He left home at age 15 years and found employment with a plastering contractor. After five years he took an apprenticeship and in 1959 obtained his certificate. A member of the Justice Mennonite Brethren Church, Harry loved people, his family, hunting, farming, cars and coffee time. Remaining to cherish the memory of Harry are his wife Mary; daughter Cathy (Shane) Macialek and their son Keith; son Greg (Linda) and children Brittany (Jacques), Tyrus and Colton; brothers: Frank, Ed and Don; sisters: Hildy Sinclair, Irma Dyck and their families. He was predeceased by his parents, two brothers, grandson Kevin Nicholls and step-mother Nina Willms. The Funeral Service took place on Friday, July 8, 2016 at Richmond Park Mennonite Brethren Church. Pastor Gerry Harms officiated. Interment was at Sparling Cemetery. Pallbearers were Brent Willms, Aaron Willms, Blaine Harder, Darren Harder, Cameron Hales and Keith Nicholls. Donations in memory of Harry may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7 or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 3-824 18th Street, Brandon, MB R7A 5B7.
