LETTLEY: Edith Evelyn passed away in her 98th year on July 5, 2016, at Hillcrest Place Personal Care Home, her residence for the past nine years. Evelyn was born November 19, 1918 to Percy and Sarah Jane (Burke) Hollingsworth, on the farm near Doonside, SK, the eldest of four siblings. She attended a one-room school, Byron, did domestic work, and later worked in the Sanitorium at Fort QuAppelle, SK. After her marriage to Frederick Edmund Lettley, May 4, 1943, they made their home in Brandon, eventually settling in the 800 block of 14th Street where they raised their children, Brian and Lois. Evelyn enjoyed caring for and visiting with people, and being a homemaker. She spent time as a Brownie Leader when Lois was young. She loved flowers and passed many happy hours tending to hers (esp. African Violets) and admiring others, whether they were real, or in pictures. Another favorite pastime was knitting and she made beautiful baby sets and afghans for gifts. Evelyn was predeceased by her daughter, Lois Arlene Ross (1987), brother Robert Hollingsworth (1992), and husband, Frederick (2001). She is survived by her son Brian (Janet); grandsons, Kristopher (Jan) Lettley; Trevor Ross, Todd Lettley, Curtis Lettley; one great-grandson, Ethan Lettley; son-in-law Dennis Ross. Also surviving are sisters, Gladys Tawse, Jean Dunton, sister-in-law, Ruth Hollingsworth and several nieces and nephews in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. A private service to celebrate Evelyns Life, and her interment was held on July 15, 2016 at Rosewood Memorial Gardens, Brandon with arrangements in care of Brockie Donovan Funeral Home.
