THIFFEAULT: It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing our dear father, Clovis (Claude) Thiffeault. Claude passed away peacefully with his wife Margaret Thiffeault at his side, on Tuesday August 16, 2016 in Brandon General Hospital due to heart failure. Claude was born in Montreal on July 8, 1936. He spent his early years in Montreal finishing his education then moved on to work on the docks in the ship yards. But he quickly realized that he didnt want to stay in Montreal, so he chose to move west. Claude landed in Brandon Manitoba in early spring of 1959 and began working as a bartender at The Price Edward Hotel. This is where he also met his soon to be wife, Margaret Shiloff. They began dating and soon realized they were meant to be together for eternity. Claude and Margaret got married in October 1959. Together they had four children, three sons and one daughter. Claude later moved on from the hotel to become a pipe fitter with Plains Western Gas. He retired with the City of Brandon as an engineer in June of 1997. A unique soul, Claude was very light spirited and always finding ways to make people laugh whether it was with a joke or silly faces hed make, he always lit up the room. Claude loved to be kept busy. If he wasnt working on a crossword puzzle, you would find him in the basement working on matchstick sculptures. He had a very creative mind, from sculpting with his hands to playing music on his harmonica, guitar, spoons and bones, not to mention singing French songs in his most eloquent French accent! Claude will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife Margaret of 56 years, his three sons Claude Jr. (wife Linda and son Phoenix), Ronnie (wife Veronica, sons Alexander, Dominik and Nikolas and daughter Tara of Winnipeg), Kenny (wife Serena and sons Riley and Braedon of Victoria, BC) and daughter Carla (sons Garrett and Joshua and daughter Breanna) and sister Bertha Thiffeault of Montreal. He was predeceased by his parents Ernest and Germaine Thiffeault and brother Gerry Thiffeault. A private family celebration of life will be held in Claudes honor at a later date.
