McCALLUM: With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Gloria McCallum on Monday, August 22, 2016, at the age of 76 years. Youngest daughter to Frank and Elsie Bullied of Brandon, Gloria was born on September 16, 1939. Family was a big part of growing up and many times were spent with aunts, uncles and cousins in day to day life. Gloria and her sisters spent many a summer out on the farm just south of Brandon, helping with the care and harvest of the family gardens. On August 6, 1960 Gloria married her Lovey Keith and they began their life together. The first few years of marriage saw moves to places like Regina and Flin Flon as Keiths retail career took them to different locations. In 1964 they made the move back home to Brandon and purchased their jewellery business. Working at the store while raising their three children, Gloria also enjoyed the active social life that came with Keiths involvement in the hockey community. They developed numerous enduring friendships during those years and were blessed with countless wonderful memories. Prior to Keiths sudden passing in 2013, they had also enjoyed many wonderful vacations with both family and friends, and had spent the previous 18 winters under the Arizona sunshine. Whether it was lifelong friends, hockey friends, or the girls who spent decades getting together multiple times a week to get some exercise, Gloria held her friendships very close to her heart and they meant the world to her. And her creativity was demonstrated as she came up with many ideas for inventing and sewing costumes, crafting, decorating and gourmet cooking. Gloria was predeceased by husband Keith, her parents Frank and Elsie Bullied, and eldest sister Ann Bullied. She leaves to mourn and cherish her memory: son Brent (Donna); daughters Jodi (David) and Kellie; sister Billie Kezin (Bullied); sister-in-law Cheryl McCallum, and several loving nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Glorias life will be held on Monday, August 29, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. at the Brockie Donovan Chapel, 332- 8th Street, with Kim Lewarne, Certified Funeral Celebrant, officiating. A private family interment will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make a donation to the Brandon Regional Health Centre Foundation Cancer Services, 150 McTavish Avenue East, Brandon, MB, R7A 2B3; Funds for Furry Friends, 208-740 Rosser Avenue, Brandon, MB, R7A 0K9; or Brandon Humane Society, 2200-17th Street East, Brandon, MB, R7A 7M6. The family would like to thank the staff at the Western Manitoba Cancer Centre in Brandon for their kind support and guidance as Gloria travelled through this past year.
