RAISON:Charles “Chas” Ernest. September 29, 1946– Wawanesa, MB -September 18, 2016 – Calgary, AB. Charles “Chas” Ernest Raison, beloved husband of Shirley of Calgary, passed away at Foothills Medical Centre on Sunday, September 18, 2016 at the age of 69 years. Chas was born in Wawanesa, MB on September 29, 1946. He was the third child born of Joseph and Becky Raison. He grew up in Wawanesa, moving to Winnipeg to work as a mechanic and continued to work with automobiles in various capacities throughout his life. Chas loved cars for as long as anyone can remember. Chas and his brother Allan started a business together in Wawanesa in 1972 and was later employed at Murray Chev Olds, Brandon from 1984 to 1999. Chas and Shirley and boys made their home in Wawanesa and then in Brandon, MB. 2006 Chas and Shirley moved to Calgary to be closer to their family. Chas was much loved by his family. Chas accepted Christ as his personal Saviour over two decades ago. He was deeply committed to his walk with the Lord and was a committed and faithful attender of Bethel Christian Assembly during his time in Brandon. During his time in Calgary, he and Shirley were attenders of First Assembly and currently Avenue Church. He was deeply devoted and loved his very much and he loved the Lord. “What does the Lord require of you but to act justly to love tenderly and to walk humbly with your God”. Chas embodied this. We celebrate that he is with his Savior who was his constant companion through his life and through his illness. Besides his loving wife Shirley of forty-four years, Chas is survived by his sons Troy (Jaime) and Corbin (Mandi); grandchildren, Sam, Zach, and Holly. He also leaves to mourn brothers -in-law Dan Kirkpatrick (Carol) of Winnipeg, MB and Greg (Kathie) Clark of Cochrane, AB; sisters-in-law Barb Raison of Winnipeg, MB and Linda Clark of Winnipeg, MB; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Becky; step-father Tom; and siblings Rodney, Isabel and Allan. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. Chas’ favourite passage of scripture was Psalm 91. “He that dwells in the secret place of the most high shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” A Committal of the urn will take place at 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 23, 2016 at Wawanesa Cemetery. A celebration of Chas’ life will follow at 1:00 p.m. the same day at Bethel Christian Assembly, 440 Richmond Avenue, Brandon, MB. An announcement of a second celebration of Chas’ life in Calgary, AB will be placed in October.
