GREGORASH: John "Johnny" Gregorash was born October 21, 1927 at Birtle Municipality, moving to Rackham where he went to school. Due to times where there were no teachers, John remembers shooting gophers for a pastime. He left school early in life and worked for farmers and later on had a career with CNR Heavy Equipment Operator for 37 years. After retirement, he worked for Larson’s Well Drilling and Pete Zachary. John married Margaret Iwasiuk on May 26, 1962 in Minnedosa. They lived in Erickson for many years, raising their two sons and later on in life, retiring in Brandon on October 1, 2013. Not long after, due to health reasons his last two years were spent at Brandon General Hospital and Fairview Care Home where he was always joking and giving the nurses a hard time. His hobbies were going out for coffee precisely at 9:00 am and 3:00 pm with the gang, ice fishing with Leann and Skylar, playing cards, and dancing the night away. He also enjoyed telling jokes, playing bingo, and going on casino trips. He was predeceased by parents Jack and Teenie, sister Jennie Seheschuk and brother-in-law Steve Seheschuk of The Pas, brother Nestor from Erickson. John is survived by his loving wife Margaret, sons, Alan John and wife June Leann of Erickson, Dale Michael and partner Michelle of Calgary. Grand-daughters Tina Spring, Ashley Margaret and Kelly Skylar of Brandon, also precious great-grand-daughters Isabella Light and Olivia John. Brother Mike and wife Mary of Shilo. Sister Mary of Kitsmat, B.C. Ernie of Prince George B.C. Sister in-law Linda of Erickson plus many nieces and nephews. A private family service will be held on October 28th at the Erickson Cemetery at 1:30 pm with a lunch to follow at the Erickson Legion at 2:00 pm. A Social Hour will follow from 3:00 pm-4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, should friends so desire, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Rae’s Funeral Home of Shoal Lake/Erickson are in charge of arrangements.
