MICHALCHUK: Jessie, with family by her side, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2016 at Fairview Personal Care Home, at the age of 98. Jessie and her husband Frank farmed side by side in Elphinstone for 40 plus years. Jessie later moved to Strathclair and then to Brandon where she worked at Hillcrest Personal Care Home for many years. Her hobbies included baking, doing crafts and gardening. Her greatest pleasure was spending time with family and friends visiting, while lovingly feeding them her delicious dainties. Diets were not allowed in Jessie's kitchen! Jessie was predeceased by her husband Frank, her parents Paul and Mary Kulchyski, her siblings Ladyk and Mike Kulchyski, Emily Syrnyk, and Stella Sobkow, her granddaughter Beverley Lecuyer, and her great-grandson Myles Mabon. Jessie is survived by her children; Leonard (Lesia) Michalchuk and Louella Doherty, grandchildren; Laurie (Gil) Mabon, Dennis (Martina) Michalchuk, Gilbert Lecuyer. Dustin (Kera) Doherty, and Crystal Doherty, great grandchildren; Rachelle (Riley) Parsonage, Jacob Lecuyer, Andrew Michalchuk and Adelyn Doherty, as well as nieces and nephews. Prayers will be held on November 11, 2016 at 7:00 pm and Mass will be celebrated on November 12, 2016 at 10:00 am at St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 927 Assiniboine Avenue Brandon. Followed by a private family interment at Elphinstone Cemetery.
