WHELPTON: Harvey James was born September 6, 1928 in Neepawa, MB, and passed away peacefully November 6, 2016 at Brandon Regional Health Centre with his family at his side. He is survived by his beloved wife Shirley, sons Ryan (Cherri), Dale, grandchildren Angela, Darren (Kaylie), Luke and Clark, great grandchild Oaklyn, and brother John. He was predeceased by his brother Calvin and sister Faye. Harvey's love for farming brought him to the Kirkham's Bridge area where he settled and later married Shirley Seater in 1957. He ran a mixed farm, with swine as the main focus. He took time to follow their sons activities and later their grandchildrens events. Harvey enjoyed time spent hunting and fishing. He took an active part in the community and was a Councillor for the RM of Daly for 15 years. Later in life, Harvey and Shirley spent winters in Texas enjoying golf, dancing and trips to Mexico. They retired to Brandon in 2007 with Harvey later residing at Fairview Home. A Memorial Service was held at the Brockie Donovan Chapel November 10, 2016.
