JEDEL: Ella (Marjorie) Jedel (nee Lowe) passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the Carberry Hospital on Saturday, November 26, 2016. Ella was born on the family farm north of Austin, MB on August 1, 1923 to Thomas “Tom” and Beulah Lowe. In 1952, Ella married Karl Jedel and they started their married life in Austin until 1963 when they moved to Brandon. Ella and Karl moved to their farm at Austin in 1975, where Ella resided until a recent illness took her to the hospital. Ella was predeceased by her parents; brothers Roy, Ralph and Tom and sister Shirley; sister in law Jean; brothers in law Tom Ayers and Jack Leslie; daughter-in-law Brenda. She is survived by her children Kurt, his children Daryle (Nicole) and Pamela (Doug); Marvin (Louella), their children Clinton, Ryan and Amanda (Kyle); Patricia (David), their daughter Sarah, as well seven great- grandchildren and two great- great-grandsons; her sisters Phyllis and Barbara; sisters -in-law Velma and Hazel; special cousin Roger (Norma) Lowe. Ella loved to curl and in later years watching it on TV. Ella was an avid games player especially bridge and card games at family gatherings. She loved her food and was an excellent pie and bun maker. Ella remained sharp as a whip until Friday, May 13 when a fall caused a hip fracture, pneumonia and a stroke that finally took her from us. Until the end, Ella enjoyed her family, especially the newest members, her great and great-great-grandchildren who were with her to celebrate her last Thanksgiving. A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at 2:00 pm at the Austin Community Hall.
