SAMBROOK: Edith Marie Sambrook of Brandon, Manitoba, beloved wife of Murray, passed away on November 20, 2016. Edith was born in Medora, Manitoba on December 8, 1932 to parents Lloyd and Maise Mann. With younger brother Lewis and her parents, Edith lived on the farm where life revolved around family, church and school activities.Murray and Edith were married on October 24, 1956 and lived on the farm north of Medora for forty-three years. Edith helped Murray on the farm whenever she could, driving the tractor and hauling grain. Along with their three daughters, Susan, Faye and Shelley, they enjoyed a great life surrounded by family and friends. They had many great camping weekends and trips as well as spending time at their cabin at Sharpe Lake. In 1999 Murray and Edith moved to Brandon and enjoyed city life. They spent a lot of time travelling to various parts of the world, wintering in Mesa and spending their summers at their cabin at Clear Lake. Edith embraced technology and loved sending and receiving emails. She especially enjoyed getting pictures and videos. Family was everything to Edith. She enjoyed hosting all the family occasions and was a wonderful cook and loved to bake. Everything was great if grandma made it. She was interested in whatever her family was doing, everyone loved calling or emailing to tell her what was happening in their lives. Edith will be missed by everyone that knew her. She was a beloved wife to Murray for over 60 years, a mom that was loved and adored by her three daughters and sons-in-law and a grandma/ great-grandma whose love will be treasured forever. The world was a better place with Edith in it. Remaining to cherish Edith’s memory are her husband Murray of 60 years; children Susan (Wade) Watson of Pilot Mound, Faye (Steve) Witt of Onanole, Shelley (Garth) Hoy of Brandon; grandchildren Devin (Tarissa), Jordan (Keeley) and Bryce; great-grandson Grayson. A funeral service was held on November 28, 2016 in Medora.
