ROBINSON: Wesley James of Valleyview Care Centre, passed away Monday November 28, 2016 at the age of 93 years. He is survived by his daughters Janet (Ron) Krebs, and Diane (Wayne) Ferguson; four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren: Greg (Kyla) Joyce - Wes, Mitchell, and Autumn; Tim (Theresa) Joyce - Colby and Jaecia; Krista Ferguson - Ezra and Adrianne; Loni (April) Ferguson; brother Lloyd Robinson of Virden. He was predeceased by his loving wife of over 70 years Evelyn Marie Robinson and sister-in-law Ida Robinson of Virden. Born at Miniota, MB on June 25, 1923, to James and Addie Robinson, Wes grew up on the family farm in the Two Creeks District and attended Ross School. He married Evelyn Anderson July 5, 1944 and together they farmed for a few years, before moving to Miniota where they owned and operated Robinsons Transfer and a small cafe, Robbies Highway Lunch. Nine years later the family moved to Brandon, where Wes began a career in farm equipment sales. He travelled many miles across southern Manitoba over the years, making numerous friends along the way. He was quite a character and his personality, hard work and integrity led to his success. In the early 60s, Wes bought a boat, which eventually led to buying a cabin at Sandy Lake. We cherish our memories at the lake with Dad and Grandpa. Music was also a family fun time, singing and dancing with Mom on the piano, Dad on the fiddle or drums. In 1977, Wes began working security at Simplot, from then on, Mom and Dad spent 25 winters in Arizona. To be said the best years of their life. He took up shuffle, woodworking, and just loved to socialize. The celebration of Wes 's life took place at Memories Chapel on Friday, December 2, 2016. A special thank you to the staff at Valleyview Care Centre for their loving care. Donations in memory of Wes may be made to a charity of choice. We will miss you, may you rest in peace!
