Predeceased by her siblings: Margaret (Peg), Donald, Duncan, Dave, and Addie. She leaves to mourn her many nephews and nieces. Cathie was born and raised on the family farm near Birtle, MB, attended high school there, and started her career with Manitoba Telephone System becoming the chief operator. She later served for 27 years at the Shoal Lake Medical Clinic and retired in 1996. While she was always ready to assist in many community projects, her main focus was her membership since November 1957 as a Rebekah. On June 11, 1960 she married Lawrence Smith and together they farmed and enjoyed many trips to the USA and their winter holidays in Victoria. Cathie was known for her ability as a fine cook and together she and Lawrence hosted many wonderful dinners for family and friends.
