POPPLE: Donaldson Kenneth Popple passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at the age of 81. Donald was born and raised on his familys farm south on Minto. In 1961, he married Isabelle Young and together they raised their two daughters, Donnalea, and Brenda on the farm. Donald is survived by his wife Isabelle, daughters Donnalea and Brenda son-in-law Trevor Cook and grandsons, Alex and Colin. Donald was predeceased by his parents Harvey and Elaine Popple and an infant daughter. Being outdoors, working the land and gardening were truly Donalds passion in life. After 43 years of farming, he rented his land and was then given the chance to work on thet Campbell Farms. It was there in the spring and fall when he drove an air seeder for the first time as well as a 4-wheel drive tractor for a few years. A dream come true! Donald was also interested in cattle in prior years and had a herd of Angus breed. With his wife and family, he built a cottage on Pelican Lake in the late 70s and enjoyed many fun times with family and friends. Many challenging but rewarding hours were spent in the Don and Gert Shop building crafts and special order items at the farm and continued after he and Isabelle moved to Brandon. Donald and Isabelle also built the furniture and designed the interior of their new home in Brandon. He along with family and friends traveled extensively from coast to coast across Canada and the United States as well as to Hawaii, Europe, The Dominican Republic and a very special family vacation to Disney World in Florida in 2010. Donald enjoyed many years volunteering in his community, curling and watching hockey: the Minto Mustangs, the Brandon Wheat Kings and his grandsons. In keeping with Donalds wish, there will be no formal service held.
