YUEN: Peacefully on December 23, 2016, Wally Kam Wo Yuen, age 91, passed away at Brandon Regional Health Centre. He was laid to rest December 29, 2016 at Brandon Cemetery by Memories Chapel. Wally is lovingly remembered by his wife Marlene, sister Linda Wong (David) his children: Gary (Naomi), Helena (Eddie), Brenda (Sandy), Kim (Fred) and Tyson (Karen), as well as six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Wally was born in Canton, China and came to Canada in the early 1950s. Shortly after he met his soulmate and partner for life, Marlene. The power of true love was proven in the 58 years they shared together. Wally was an amazing chef and was proven by his many years as a cook. Beginning in Canada in a small cafe in Wapalla, Saskatchewan, to the Brandon Exchange/Belair Restaurant on Rosser Avenue and finally his 30 years as head cook at Kam Lung Restaurant. He was the most genuine, honest, hard working man who always did above and beyond in his life and the Chinese Community. He liked the simple things in life: Spending family time and meeting up with his coffee buddies. Wally always had a smile for everyone and will be missed by so many.
