JORGENSEN: Kristian Theodore Jorgensen. On December 4, 2016 our family said good-bye to a kind, humble, and gentle man, our husband, father, and grandfather. Kris was born on 17-9-29 August 8, 1933, second son of Kristian and Petrea Jorgensen. The family moved one and one half miles north to NE 19-9-29 soon after Kris was born. Kriss father later sold him that land and Kris farmed and lived on that land all his life. Kris was always a farmer and proud of his profession. He was always interested in the latest farming practices and new equipment came under his critical eye. Kris was a farmer from the time he could walk till the very end of his life. He loved watching his crops grow and he took great pride in combining his fields. Even at 83 years old he loved to ride in the combine and even hauled a few loads of grain this last harvest. He worked hard and farmed for over seventy years. Kris installed in his children and grandchildren his hard work ethics and he taught them if a job is to be done you do whatever it takes to get the job done. Kris and Gwen worked hard on the farm but always made time for their family and for dancing whether square dancing, round dancing or old time dancing. They made many friends dancing. Kris could dance and enjoyed many dances with his favorite dances being an old time waltz and a polka. Nothing he liked better than a fast polka that started off fast and got faster and faster as the song went on. Kris and Gwen went on a few trips. They went to Hawaii with square dancers and danced on the beach at Waikiki and at 10,000 feet level on Maui on the Haleakala Mountains. They went on a couple of three week bus trips, a trip with Jamie to Yukon and Alaska and as far as the Arctic Circle, a ten day cruise in the Caribbean, camping trips and Disneyworld. Kris loved his farm and was always anxious to get back home. Kriss greatest pride was watching his family grow, become educated and have a secure future. Kriss greatest pleasure was watching his four great-grandchildren with their never ending energy and all their individual personalities. He also took great pride in his nieces and nephews. He often talked about how moved he was that at his 83rd birthday party 48 family members came to help him celebrate. Kris loved life and lived it to the fullest. He always had time to visit with everyone he met anywhere and was always interested how they were doing. Kris leaves a legacy we can all wish for. Kris leaves to cherish memories of him his best friend and partner of 62 1/2 years Gwendolyn Elizabeth. His daughters Debra Anne (Gene) Pielechaty and Dale Lynn (Robbie) Milliken, his grandchildren Dr. Jamie (Joshua) Rist, Dillon Milliken, Cody (Josie) Milliken and Jessica Milliken, great- grandchildren Kaliyah, Marni and T.J. (twins) Rist and Hayden Milliken, sister Norma George, 8 nieces and nephews, 11 great-nieces and nephews, and 7 great-great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Kristian Sr. (1984) and Petrea (2001) and brothers Earl (2001) and Olee (1994). A celebration of Kriss life was held at Tundra Place in Virden on December 14, 2016. Master of ceremonies was Bob Mazer, musician Leonard Downer, ushers Perry George and Donna Fordyce. Pallbearers were Dillon Milliken, Cody Milliken, Josh Rist, Murray Jorgensen, Jeff Jorgensen and Barry Henderson. Kris was laid to rest in the Virden Cemetery.
