WINGERT: It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our mother, Alice Joan Wingert (Procter) on Tuesday, January 24th 2017. She had just turned 90. She was born in rural southeast Saskatchewan (Hillesden) on January 20, 1927. She married Richard William Wingert in 1955, and they had two boys, Richard Albert of Winnipeg and Fred William of Brandon. Her husband Richard William passed away in 1988. She is survived by her two sons and her sister Edna Procter. Alice showed her fond memories of the rural life by her interest and expertise in sewing and cooking. She was known for her kindness, generosity and baking and will be treasured in the memories of her church families. She enjoyed jobs where she served others including waitressing and babysitting. She especially enjoyed her time as a nurses aid at Fairview Home. Alices involvement in church life and studying the Bible gave her particular satisfaction and fulfillment. A Funeral service was held at Brockie Donovan Funeral Home on Saturday, January 28th, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Paul Stade of First Baptist Church officiating. Interment took place at Rosewood Memorial Gardens, Brandon. If desired, donations to the Alzheimers Society of Manitoba, 4B-457-9th Street, Brandon, MB, R7A 4A9 would be greatly appreciated.
