VIGNERON: It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Felix Vigneron. Felix was born on April 18, 1933 in Eston, SK. He passed away on March 31, 2017 at the age of 83, after a lengthy battle with different illnesses. Felix came to Brandon with his family in 1965 as a Project Manager to build Simplot Chemical. He was involved in fastball, curling and golf. He rapidly became an organizer in all of these sports and soon built lasting friendships in each of these areas. His wife, Gwen, passed away in 1982 from cancer. He met his second wife, Shirley, and spent the next thirty years together. They enjoyed many rounds of golf, both at Clear Lake and Shilo. After retirement, they loved travelling south to golf during the winters. Felix continued to golf on the Legends tour up to last summer. Apparently, the 19th hole is the toughest hole to finish! He enjoyed spending time with his family and barbecuing a batch of his famous finger licking ribs. He will be deeply missed by all of his family and friends. Felix is predeceased by his parents, Charles and Genevieve, his first wife, Gwen and his sister, Betty. He is survived by his wife, Shirley, brother John Vigneron, sister Judy Marak-Baetz, his children: Alan (Tamara), Patrick (Ramona), Lori Peill (Kevin), his grandchildren: Jessica, Eli, Maria, Ben, Leo, Adam, Beth (Grant), Samara, Josh (Jenalee). His step children: Derek, Michelle (Jason) and their children Brayden, Jenna, Brooke and numerous nieces and nephews. At Felix's request, there will be no official funeral in Brandon. There will be a celebration of his life and interment this summer in Eston, SK, Felix's hometown, on July 1st with family and friends. In lieu of flowers, and in honour of his Yorkies, donations can be made to the Brandon Humane Society, 2200-17th St. East, Brandon, MB, R7A 7M6.
