ERICKSON: Melvin Alexander Erickson passed away peacefully at Country Meadows Care Home, Neepawa, MB, March 12, 2017. He was born on March 21, 1925 in Erickson. Left to mourn his passing, wife Jean, daughter Linda Stinchcombe, grandson Doug Stinchcombe (Cadence), granddaughter Kristin Andrews (Nate) great grandchildren Parker and Taylor Andrews, brothers-in-law and sisters- in-law, nieces and nephews. Melvin was predeceased by brothers: Don, F/S Harry R.C.A.F., Ray, Elwood, sister Norma Minty, and son-in-law Mike Stinchcombe. Melvin worked for Parks Canada in R.M.N.P for 30 years. One of the highlights of working there was being awarded the Canadian Silver Jubilee award. The award of the medal is an expression of appreciation of worthy and devoted service rendered by the recipient in there various walks of life and esteem in which they are held by their associates. Melvin and Jean enjoyed trips to Texas, Arizona, and Hawaii. They enjoyed their travel trailer to various places where they would stop at golf courses along the way. Melvin was involved in the development of Grey Owl Estates, also volunteered on many committees, mainly around community hall and rink. Melvin worked hard and had a sense of humor and always that sparkle in his eye. A life well lived. A private family service will be held at a later date.
