STEPHENSON: Nancy (Agnes Millar Martin, nee Small) passed away peacefully on January 5, 2017 in her residence at Riverdale Personal Care Home. Nancy was the younger daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Small of Rapid City, Manitoba. She was born on the home farm at Rapid City and received her elementary and high school education there. Nancy attended Brandon University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1950. Following this, she attended Angus Commercial College in Winnipeg where she took a secretarial course. After working for the Manitoba Government and teaching for two years on a Letter of Authority, Nancy returned to Brandon University where she obtained a Bachelor of Pedagogy degree in 1956, following that her Bachelor of Education in 1961. Nancy spent thirty years in the teaching profession. Her marriage to Clyde Stephenson of Gregg, Manitoba took place in 1966. Nancy was a supporter of many community groups. Of particular note, she supported the Legion, the Rapid City Library and UCW (United Church Women). She was predeceased by her parents, her sister, Margaret and brother-in-law, Lloyd Irwin. She leaves to mourn three nephews, Eric (Kim) and their family Sean, Ryan and Erica (and families); Keith; and David (Terese) as well as relatives in Scotland and many wonderful friends. Donations can be made to a charity of one’s choice. A graveside service will be held at Rapid City Cemetery on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 1:00.
